Prof. Montserrat Alvaro Lozano is a leading pediatric allergist and researcher based in Barcelona, Spain. She serves as the Head of the Department of Pediatric Allergy and Clinical Immunology at SJD Barcelona Children’s Hospital and leads the “Allergic Diseases in Childhood and Adolescence” Research Group at the Institut de Recerca Sant Joan de Déu (IRSJD). She obtained her medical degree from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and completed her specialization and Master’s in Pediatric Allergy and Clinical Immunology at the University of Barcelona.
Her clinical and research expertise focuses on pediatric allergic diseases, with a special emphasis on food allergies, oral immunotherapy, and asthma. She has been a key contributor to the EAACI guidelines on the management of IgE-mediated food allergy. Prof. Alvaro Lozano has held several leadership positions, including President of the Pediatric Section of the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI) and Vice-President of the Spanish Society of Pediatric Clinical Immunology, Allergy and Asthma (SEICAP). She has published over 90 scientific papers and is actively involved in international medical education and accreditation.
