Associate Professor Anca Mirela Chiriac is a senior allergist and academic at the University of Montpellier, France, where she serves in the Allergy Unit of the University Hospital and is affiliated with the Institut Desbrest d’Épidémiologie et de Santé Publique (IDESP), a joint unit of the University of Montpellier and INSERM.
Her research focuses on drug allergy, particularly the diagnostic utility of drug provocation tests and the development of decision-support tools like the drug allergy numeric card. She was the principal investigator for the Montpellier site of the Horizon 2020 COBIOPHAD project, aimed at developing a diagnostic device for penicillin allergy.
Dr. Chiriac has published over 75 scientific papers and has a Hirsch index of 19. She has contributed as an expert to 10 ENDA/DAIG task forces and guidelines.
Through her clinical expertise and commitment to advancing diagnostic strategies, she continues to play a vital role in improving the management of drug allergies in Europe.
