Dr. Camelia Berghea

Dr. Camelia Berghea is a pioneering allergology expert and the head of the Center of Excellence in Allergology at Wellborn Băneasa Pediatric Clinic. She holds a doctorate in medical sciences, with a thesis focused on the genetic polymorphisms of cysteinyl-leukotrienes in asthma. Dr. Berghea has received significant recognition for her contributions both nationally and internationally in the field of allergology.

Throughout her career, she has been an active member of various prestigious organizations, including serving as Vice-President of the Romanian Society of Allergology and Clinical Immunology (SRAIC) and participating in the European Academy of Allergology and Clinical Immunology (EAACI), the World Allergy Organization (WAO), the Romanian Society of Pneumology (SRP), and the European Respiratory Society (ERS).

Her research highlights include being a member of the COST project for European Cooperation in Science and Technology (2020), and working on significant studies such as the genetic polymorphisms of IL13 in children with idiopathic nephrotic syndrome and food allergies, as well as leading the multiallergen biochip project (2007-2010).

Dr. Berghea has contributed chapters to Pediatric Allergy: a Case-Based Collection (2019) and worked as an editor for Medical Emergencies (2017). She also coordinated the book Immunological Aspects in Kidney Disease in Children (2016).

Her work blends in-depth research with a patient-centered, empathetic approach, shaping the future of allergology in both clinical and academic settings.
