Prof. Dr. Polliana Leru is a distinguished medical professional specializing in Allergology and Clinical Immunology. She has been practicing as a Primary Care Physician at Colentina Clinical Hospital since 2009, where she provides expert care for both hospitalized and ambulatory patients. Her responsibilities also include interdisciplinary consultations with other departments, as well as supervising and coordinating the work of resident doctors and medical students.
In addition to her clinical work, Prof. Dr. Leru has demonstrated exceptional leadership. From 2006 to 2015, she served as the Head of the Allergology and Clinical Immunology Department at Colentina Clinical Hospital. She has also been the Coordinator of the Allergology Laboratory within the Colentina Research and Development Center (CDPC) since 2008, where she plays an instrumental role in numerous research projects, particularly in the field of environmental allergology and pollen monitoring.
Prof. Dr. Leru is actively involved in international research and development, having led the COST project Sustainable Management of Ambrosia Artemisiifolia in Europe from 2013 to 2017. She is responsible for initiating and coordinating multiple international research initiatives and has contributed significantly to various clinical studies on respiratory and allergic conditions.
She is also a passionate educator, regularly delivering lectures and courses for medical students and residents, and has participated in the organization of national and international conferences. Her work has led to numerous publications, and she is a recognized figure in the field of Allergology and Clinical Immunology, both in Romania and internationally.
