Prof. Emek Kocatürk Göncü is a highly distinguished dermatologist and researcher currently active at the Institute of Allergology, Charité Universitätsmedizin Berlin, and as a Professor at Koç University in Istanbul. She graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 1999 and specialized in dermatology at Göztepe Training and Research Hospital. Her clinical and research expertise is centered on chronic urticaria, angioedema, atopic dermatitis, and pruritus.
She is a prominent figure in the international allergy community, serving as a steering committee member of the UCARE (Urticaria Centers of Reference and Excellence) network and holding leadership roles within the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI). Her current work involves project management in translational research at Charité, focusing on treatment responses, hormonal influences on skin diseases, and patient-reported outcomes.
