Prof. Isabella Annesi-Maesano is Professor of Environmental Epidemiology and Director of Research at the Institut National de la Santé et de la Recherche Médicale (INSERM), leading the Department of Epidemiology of Allergic and Respiratory Diseases (UMR-S 1136, INSERM and UPMC) at the Pierre Louis Institute of Epidemiology and Public Health.
With a dual training in medicine and physics, and a Master’s and PhD in respiratory epidemiology, Prof. Annesi-Maesano’s research focuses on the influence of environmental factors on allergic and respiratory diseases. Her interests include the study of the mechanisms involved in asthma and the effects of exposure to air pollutants.
She is the author of more than 180 scientific articles published in prestigious journals, with a Hirsch index of 49, and associate editor of the European Respiratory Journal.
She is a member of multiple international scientific committees, actively contributing to the development of public health policies in the field of respiratory and environmental health.

Prof. Isabella Annesi-Maesano este profesor de epidemiologie de mediu și director de cercetare la Institut National de la Santé et de la Recherche Médicale (INSERM), conducând Departamentul de Epidemiologie a Bolilor Alergice și Respiratorii (UMR-S 1136, INSERM și UPMC) din cadrul Institutului Pierre Louis de Epidemiologie și Sănătate Publică.
Cu o dublă pregătire în medicină și fizică, și cu titluri de master și doctorat în epidemiologie respiratorie, Prof. Annesi-Maesano desfășoară activități de cercetare axate pe influența factorilor de mediu asupra bolilor alergice și respiratorii. Interesele sale includ studiul mecanismelor implicate în astm și efectele expunerii la poluanți atmosferici.
Este autoare a peste 180 de articole științifice publicate în reviste de prestigiu, cu un indice Hirsch de 49, și editor asociat al European Respiratory Journal.
Este membră în multiple comitete științifice internaționale, contribuind activ la elaborarea politicilor de sănătate publică în domeniul respirator și al sănătății mediului.
