Prof. Mohamed Shamji

Prof. Mohamed Shamji is a world-renowned clinical immunologist and Professor of Immunology and Allergy at Imperial College London. He serves as the Head of the Immunomodulation and Tolerance Group within the National Heart and Lung Institute (NHLI). He earned his PhD from Imperial College London and has since dedicated his career to understanding the mechanisms of allergen-specific immunotherapy (AIT) and the development of novel biomarkers for allergic diseases.

His research is internationally recognized, focusing on immune tolerance, regulatory T and B cells, and the efficacy of biologics in treating asthma and allergic rhinitis. Prof. Shamji has authored over 150 scientific publications and holds leadership roles within the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI), where he has served as Chair of the Immunology Section and a member of the Executive Committee. He is actively involved in clinical trials and the translation of basic science into personalized treatments for allergic patients.
