Prof. Maria Torres (Maria Jose Torres Jaén) is a leading expert in drug allergy and clinical immunology. In June 2024, she was appointed President of the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI), becoming the first Spanish professional to hold this prestigious position. She is a Full Professor of Medicine at the University of Málaga and serves as the Head of the Allergy Department at the Malaga Regional University Hospital, where her team provides care for a population of over 1.5 million people.

Her clinical and research work is primarily focused on drug hypersensitivity, food allergy, and respiratory diseases. She leads a multidisciplinary research group of over 30 experts at IBIMA-Plataforma BIONAND, exploring precision medicine and predictive models for allergic reactions. Prof. Torres has authored over 180 scientific publications, serves as a Deputy Editor for the journal Allergy, and has coordinated numerous national and European research initiatives, including projects on the impact of climate change and artificial intelligence on allergic rhinitis.

Prof. Frank Siebenhaar is a distinguished dermatologist and allergist with a focus on mast cell biology and mast cell-mediated diseases. He currently serves as the Head of Patient Care at the Institute of Allergology, Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin, and leads preclinical development at the Fraunhofer Institute (ITMP IA) in Berlin. He received his medical degree from Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz in 2003 and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Experimental Pathology and Immunology at Harvard Medical School (2007–2009).

His clinical and research expertise is centered on mastocytosis, chronic urticaria, angioedema, and autoinflammatory syndromes. Prof. Siebenhaar has authored over 200 scientific publications and is a key figure in international medical networks, serving as the Chair of the European Competence Network on Mastocytosis (ECNM) and President of the German Working Group of Dermatological Research (ADF). He is also an active member of the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI) and is heavily involved in clinical trials and the development of new diagnostic tools and treatments for mast cell disorders.

Prof. Mohamed Shamji

Prof. Mohamed Shamji is a world-renowned clinical immunologist and Professor of Immunology and Allergy at Imperial College London. He serves as the Head of the Immunomodulation and Tolerance Group within the National Heart and Lung Institute (NHLI). He earned his PhD from Imperial College London and has since dedicated his career to understanding the mechanisms of allergen-specific immunotherapy (AIT) and the development of novel biomarkers for allergic diseases.

His research is internationally recognized, focusing on immune tolerance, regulatory T and B cells, and the efficacy of biologics in treating asthma and allergic rhinitis. Prof. Shamji has authored over 150 scientific publications and holds leadership roles within the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI), where he has served as Chair of the Immunology Section and a member of the Executive Committee. Prof. Montserrat Alvaro Lozano is a leading pediatric allergist and researcher based in Barcelona, Spain. She serves as the Head of the Department of Pediatric Allergy and Clinical Immunology at SJD Barcelona Children’s Hospital and leads the “Allergic Diseases in Childhood and Adolescence” Research Group at the Institut de Recerca Sant Joan de Déu (IRSJD). She obtained her medical degree from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and completed her specialization and Master’s in Pediatric Allergy and Clinical Immunology at the University of Barcelona.

Her clinical and research expertise focuses on pediatric allergic diseases, with a special emphasis on food allergies, oral immunotherapy, and asthma. Gülfem Elif Çelik

Prof. Gülfem Elif Çelik is a senior allergist and immunologist with a distinguished career at Ankara University Faculty of Medicine, where she worked from 1997 to 2023. She received her medical degree from Hacettepe University and completed fellowships in pulmonary medicine and allergy, with a thesis on aspirin-induced asthma. She became a full professor in 2008 and served as Vice Dean (2012–2017) and Dean (2017–2021), leading initiatives in medical education and accreditation.

Her research focuses on asthma, drug allergy, and aspirin hypersensitivity. She has authored over 80 scientific publications and has an Hirsch index of 28. Internationally, she trained at Johns Hopkins, Harvard Medical School, and Lodz Medical University.

Prof. Çelik is a member of the EAACI Executive Committee and the Biologics Working Group. She currently coordinates the Turkish Adult Asthma Registry and practices in a private clinic, continuing to contribute actively to allergy care and research.
